Sixth Street Prep School, One of 126 Star Schools in California The California Business for Education Excellence has named Sixth Street Prep School a Star School based on the 2008 student achievement data. The announcement read, "After reviewing student achievement data for every public school in California, your school stood well above the rest in getting your students to grade level proficiency." |

2009-2010 School Year School hours for the 2009-2010 school year will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for 1st through 6th grades Monday through Thursday. AM Kindergarten goes from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and PM Kindergarten goes from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Fridays both kindergarten class are n school from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Students in grades 1 through 6 are dismissed at 12:22 p.m. of Fridays. |
Sixth Street Prep School Receives Title I Academic Achievement Award Sixth Street Prep School is proud to announce that the school is the recipient for the 4th year in a row of the Title I Academic Achievement Award presented by the state of California to high achieving Title I schools. The coveted award will be presented to Principal, Linda Mikels, by State Superintendent of Schools Jack O'Connell at an awards banquet in Costa Mesa in April. |

Sixth Street Receives Golden Bell Award Sixth Street Prep School has been named the recipient of the California School Boards Association's Golden Bell Award. As one of 62 awards given state-wide, the Golden Bell was presented to Sixth Street for its proven 10-a-Day program with its "prove and disprove" strategy that has led to 92% of students demonstrating proficiency or higher on the state test. |
National Blue Ribbon School Sixth Street Prep School has been named a 2009 National Blue Ribbon School by the U. S. Department of Education. As one of only 25 schools in California and 314 schools across the nation, Sixth Street has been selected to receive the award based on our students' high achievement and the school's ability to close the achievement gap among all our subgroups. We will be traveling to Washington, D.C. on November 1, 2009, to receive the award in person. The school will be hosting a celebration banquet on November 17, 2009, at the Grumpy Golfer. |

938 API Score Sixth Street Prep School has achieved a 938 API score! This is the highest score in the entire High Desert and ranks Sixth Street Prep School #3 in the County of San Bernardino. The staff, parents and students are proud of these results which continue to prove our motto, "We Can Fly!" |
